VALENCIA, OCTOBER 23, 2025

Air Nostrum Engineering and Maintenance Operations (ANEM) yesterday received the ERA (European Regions Airline Association) award in the Innovation category. Representatives from the company were in Estoril where the 2025 awards of the European Regional Airlines Association were presented, coinciding with the organization's General Assembly. This association is made up of more than 150 members, including manufacturers, suppliers, airports, etc., and 50 regional airlines from across Europe.

The award was given to ANEM because "it has demonstrated a clear commitment to fostering and promoting innovative and technological initiatives whenever possible to advance its business and continually improve," the jury explained when announcing the verdict.

The jury was led by Jon Horne, partner at Airport Investment and Enterprise LLP, and comprised of experts Romano Pagliari, senior lecturer in air transport at Cranfield University; Marylin Bastin, head of sustainable aviation at Eurocontrol; Mariagracia La Piscopia, executive director of SESAR; and Sean Gates, head of legal counsel at ERA.

The recognition was presented at the association's gala dinner, held in conjunction with the General Assembly and held since 1991. ANEM's general manager, Fermín Tirado, took the stage to accept the award.

Among the significant achievements recognized by the jury for the 2025 innovation award is the adoption of an advanced, artificial intelligence-based predictive maintenance tool that tracks 40 critical aircraft components based on historical maintenance records and provides vital information to enable engineering interventions before component failure occurs.

Also considered was the implementation of the TRAX eMobility app, a mobile and web-based system that improves efficiency through real-time access to maintenance data, task management, and workflow optimization. The app improves efficiency, reduces costs, and increases reliability, achieving a more efficient and technological approach to aircraft maintenance, ensuring greater reliability and embracing the digital transformation in aviation.

Finally, the Green Leap project, which develops the electrification of Air Nostrum's vehicles and ground equipment, resulting in reduced emissions and noise, was recognized.

In his acceptance speech, Fermín Tirado expressed: “We are proud to have achieved significant achievements in innovation. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. We are committed to continuing to drive innovation and technology in the aviation industry. Thank you to the organizers for this recognition, and we look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of innovation in the coming years.”

The most awarded European company

Air Nostrum has established itself as the European regional company with the most awards in the history of the ERA, with ten distinctions. The Valencian company reaches this record figure after winning six Gold awards (1999, 2002/3, 2003/4, 2007/8, 2011/2, and the most recent in 2019), and two Bronze awards (2014 and 2015), in addition to the recognition in 2023, in which it received the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and the one it received yesterday at ANEM in Estoril.
