The Balearic Islands will see a 24% increase in seats compared to 2024 on routes to the mainland, with connections improving by up to 81%
Badajoz, Vigo, León, Santiago, Valladolid, Valencia, and the Canary Islands will have extra routes this Christmas season
The connection to Strasbourg will increase by 76% with the return of the Barcelona route in December and improvements to the Madrid route

Air Nostrum, Iberia's franchise airline for regional flights, announces a significant reinforcement of its operations for the 2025 Christmas season. This year, the company is increasing the number of seats on its routes to the Balearic Islands by 24%, consolidating its commitment to connectivity between the mainland and the islands. Connectivity is also being improved in the Canary Islands and Melilla, as well as at other national airports.
In the Balearic Islands, year-round routes are experiencing particularly significant growth, such as the Alicante-Ibiza connection, which is increasing its capacity by 24%; Ibiza-Valencia, up 27%; Menorca-Valencia, which is nearly doubling its capacity with 81% more seats; and Mallorca-Valencia, which is increasing its operations by 54%.
The Christmas schedule also includes reinforcements on seasonal routes. Passengers from Badajoz will have additional flights to Mallorca on December 19, 23, 26, and 30, and January 2.
Meanwhile, Valladolid is increasing its capacity to Mallorca by 18% compared to last Christmas, facilitating travel during the holidays. These flights will operate on December 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30, and January 1, 2, 3, and 4.
León, for its part, is consolidating its Thursday connection to Son Sant Joan Airport throughout the year and adding extra flights during the Christmas season, representing a 30% increase in capacity compared to last year. The special route will operate on December 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, and 30, and January 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8.
Vigo is also joining this reinforcement, with 33% more seats on its route to Mallorca. Service will operate on the following days: December 21, 22, 23, 25, 27, 28, 29, and 30, and January 2, 3, 4, and 6.
In the Canary Islands, Air Nostrum maintains its commitment to inter-island and mainland connectivity, operating special flights between Tenerife and Santiago, Valencia, and Valladolid on December 22, 26, and 29, as well as January 2 and 5.
Gran Canaria, meanwhile, will be connected to Valencia and León, facilitating travel to and from the islands during the Christmas period on December 20, 23, 27, and 30, and January 3.
International operations are also being strengthened this year, especially on the Strasbourg route, which will have flights throughout December. The French city is a very popular destination in December due to its famous Christmas markets that attract many tourists. Barcelona will be connected to the Alsatian capital on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while Madrid will offer flights from Monday to Saturday, including additional flights on December 1 and 8. All these flights will be operated with 100-seat CRK aircraft, representing a 76% increase in total capacity compared to the previous year.
In Melilla, Air Nostrum is increasing the number of available seats by 2%, operating eight routes that include its usual destinations such as Málaga, Barcelona, Almería, Granada, Gran Canaria, Madrid, Mallorca, and Seville. Furthermore, routes that registered the highest occupancy rates last year are being significantly reinforced, such as Granada, which is increasing its capacity by 11%, Almería, with 27% more seats during the Christmas season, and Seville, which is growing by 22%.
With these improvements, Air Nostrum consolidates its leadership in Spanish regional aviation and reaffirms its commitment to domestic destinations, offering the best connectivity and service to its passengers during the Christmas season.
