VALENCIA, DECEMBER 11, 2025
Air Nostrum Engineering and Maintenance Operations (ANEM), the Xabec Vocational Training Centre, and the consulting firm Airtech Levante have signed a collaboration agreement to create a Training Centre in Valencia specializing in aircraft maintenance. The aim is to address the shortage of professionals in this strategic sector and generate employment opportunities for unemployed individuals or those in vulnerable situations.
The implementation of this project involves hosting several editions of the Level I Professional Certificate in Auxiliary Aircraft Maintenance Operations over the coming years. With 400 hours of training, students will receive instruction from Xabec's faculty directly aligned with the needs of the aeronautical industry.
For ANEM, the project represents a direct path to meeting the growing demand for qualified technicians at its maintenance base at Valencia Airport, while ensuring that the training content meets real-world production requirements. Xabec contributes the project's academic expertise and social focus, while AIRTECH handles the design and technical management of the infrastructure.
Fermín Tirado, CEO of ANEM, explains regarding this agreement: “The opening of our aviation maintenance school in Valencia is an important step in offering young people the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become aviation maintenance professionals and contribute to Air Nostrum's success in a leading and constantly growing sector. The training is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to perform high-quality maintenance tasks and meet the most demanding industry standards. Our students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, as well as guidance and support from experienced ANEM professionals.”
This Training Centre follows the successful training model that Xabec CFP has been developing for several years in collaboration with other companies in specialized sectors such as rail and welding. As Ignacio Ferrer, the centre's director, explained, “This Training Centre has a social dimension that makes it special. In addition to guaranteeing top-quality professional training with up-to-date equipment and instructors trained by industry experts, it is aimed at vulnerable groups who will be able to access stable, quality employment in a very attractive sector. It has all the necessary elements for success: employment, training, and collaboration between companies and educational institutions.”
The Training Center will be located in Riba-roja de Túria, in the Reva Industrial Park, a strategic location and a benchmark in the logistics sector. The project has been made possible thanks to the support of Nederval and the collaboration of Joaquín Ivars Consultores Inmobiliarios, whose involvement has been key to bringing this initiative to fruition.
With this alliance, the three entities demonstrate that cooperation between companies and educational institutions is crucial for addressing the challenges of strategic sectors. At the same time, the project reinforces its social dimension by becoming an instrument for socio-labor inclusion, offering real employment and training opportunities to unemployed people or those at risk of exclusion.
